Flag Burning Ceremony: The Post will perform a Flag Burning ceremony on Flag Day June 14th at 10:00am to properly dispose of old and unserviceable American flags.
CENTRO TO OFFER FREE RIDES FOR VETERANS: Beginning May 5, 2025, Centro will begin offering a new unlimited ride pass providing free rides for all qualified veterans on its regular bus routes. The Veterans Pass is valid on all of Centro’s regular bus services in Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, and Oswego Counties. Centro’s “Veteran Pass” will be available to all honorably discharged veterans who apply through their local Veterans Service Agency. Once the application is approved by the agency, the veteran can then receive their Veterans Pass at their local Centro office. Transportation and obtaining a photo identification has been a barrier for many people who are trying to find employment, apply for earned benefits, attend medical appointments or properly care for their families, This program will provide an opportunity to our veteran population to obtain another form of identification and have reliable transportation. Expansion of the Veterans Tuition Award: The Veterans Tuition Award, administered by the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation, provides eligible veterans with up to the full cost of SUNY undergraduate tuition at approved colleges and vocational training programs across New York State. The program will now serve even more veterans by broadening eligibility and increasing flexibility. Program Highlights Include:

- Broadened Eligibility: Veterans with a minimum of four years of active-duty service or those who served in combat or the combat theaters of Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, or Afghanistan, and were honorably discharged can now qualify.
- Flexibility for Full-and Part-Time Studies: Veterans pursuing either full- or part-time education can now benefit, providing greater flexibility.
- Coordinated Benefits: Veterans can maximize federal financial aid and GI Bill benefits and state support, as awards are not reduced by Montgomery GI Bill benefits or Pell Grants.
